Our Annual Goa ritual….Other side of wild and noisy Goa.
Came across a post on Instagram regarding Cape Goa resort in Goa, researched a bit and thought this would be the best weekend getaway for us. Wanted to stay as far as possible from the crowds. Post covid restrictions, there is mad rush to Goa..especially South and North Goa. So we decided to explore the remaining Old Goa and spend a night somewhere middle of Goa..thats where The Cape Goa surfaced (Please check out my previous Cola Goa Travelogue here) and we instantly booked it after checking out few reviews.
Initially we thought we will spend just one day at the resort and spend one day somewhere in Old Goa.Later came to know from wife’s cousin that she is in town and she invited us to stay in their apartment as it is nestled right middle of the Old Goa(Milroc Retreat), we thought that would be a good idea.
Day1-So the stage was set, we all (Hum do and Hamaare do) left Mangalore. On the way we had our first pitstop at Marwanthe beach for cup of tea.

Leaving Marwanthe, enroute we took a detour to Ottinene ,Byndoor area to explore sunset point which I had explored 14 years back on my Mahindra Scorpio. Its a secluded sunset point with two forest cottages. The view offered is just fantastic and mindblowing. You can trek down to the temple and beach side. From the hillock you can witness the confluence of Arabian sea and Baindoor river.

Leaving Ottinene, while connecting back to the highway, we came across Raghavendra Swamy Temple..we paid a quick visit and left for next pitstop Murdeshwar. Reaching Murdeshwar was nightmare, heavy traffic and tourists..though we managed to get parking inside, but the heat and the crowd was turn off.So decided to leave the place early. While exiting, noticed many cars and tempos parked on the beach sand.My evil mind had some different plans sketched out, without thinking twice took the car inside the beach and drove as far as much possible on the sand, away from the crowd and managed to click some fantastic pics of Lord Shiva and Ford Endeavour..we were pleasantly surprised. We decided to have our packed lunch here-lemon rice and dal chutney powder prepared by my mom…that was delicious.
Cant get any better view than this
Well, this turning out to be my slowest Goa roadtrip…and my beloved Ford Endeavour giving me mileage of 10 plus ha ha.It was already mid noon, without any delay we decided to head to Goa without stopping anywhere. We drove straight to Panjim, bypassing the Madgaon by taking the left turn down south towards Pallolem and continue further up.
On almost nearing my destination, there was massive traffic jam under the new bridge being constructed across the river..we almost wasted 1 hour clearing the traffic and finally made it to Old Goa and spent the night at wife’s cousins place.Total we took good 12 hours to reach goa..Endeavour gave a mileage of 11kms…was pleasantly surprised.
Day 2:After breakfast, we 4 along with wife’s cousin and kid we decided to explore some part of Old Goa (Island)which I had not explored previously. We took a ferry towards the Chorao island and drove towards Mayem lake and explored the bungee jump arena, boating area inside the park and had the famous lime soda in one of the shop next to Mayem Lake.It was burning hot like crazy and we decided we will not do boating. So we clicked few photos and returned back home the same way.

Day 3: After breakfast, we bid goodbye to uncle/aunt/cousin and we headed stright down south to our resort -The Cape Goa.Resort is built on the cliff and commands a magnificient view. The road to reach the resort is on the cliff, where you park your car and climb down to access the resort.Almost same like our last visit to Cola Goa .Resort got its own private beach.During hightide beach is not accessible.Sunsets are killer from this point. So during sunset ,you can expect lot of random travellers around this resort to click pics.So to click pics, one has to get up early morning 6am..who does that while in Goa? Yes I do ha ha.
Now let the pics do rest of the talking…

Day4: Final day at resort, after having heavy breakfast we checked out from the resort. One day in this resort is too less…atleast 2 days required. Place is perfect for couples..they got exclusive honeymoon suites. You normally find newly married couples here..
Thats how we wrapped up this years Goa roadtrip without any hangover
but
with lot of pleasant memories.
